Vendor Terms of Service
These Vendor Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your participation as a vendor on the Ethiocommerce platform, owned and managed by Ethiopost. By registering or operating as a vendor on Ethiocommerce, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions.
1. Vendor Eligibility
To apply for a vendor account and be approved for selling on Ethiocommerce, vendors must meet the following requirements:
- A valid and current Business or Trade License issued by an authorized Ethiopian authority.
- Applicable Quality Assurance Certificates or product compliance documentation, where relevant (e.g., food safety, electronics standards, etc.).
- A valid Export License for vendors who wish to offer cross-border or international sales.
- Tax Identification Number (TIN) and VAT registration (if applicable).
- Proof of ownership or authorization to represent the business.
2. Product Listings and Content
- All listings must accurately describe the products being sold and comply with Ethiopost’s content guidelines.
- Vendors must ensure that product information, pricing, images, and descriptions are accurate and up-to-date.
- Prohibited items such as counterfeit goods, restricted imports, or illegal products will not be allowed.
3. Compliance and Legal Responsibility
- Vendors are responsible for ensuring their products comply with all applicable local and international laws, standards, and regulations.
- Any breach of consumer protection, advertising, tax, or product safety laws is the vendor’s sole responsibility.
- Ethiopost reserves the right to request documentation for verification at any time.
4. Order Fulfillment and Customer Service
- Vendors must process orders promptly and ensure timely delivery as per platform expectations.
- Clear communication with customers, including order status and after-sales support, is mandatory.
- Returns and refunds must be handled according to Ethiocommerce’s return policy and consumer rights law.
5. Payments and Fees
- Vendors agree to pay applicable commissions or service fees as outlined in the vendor agreement or onboarding materials.
- All payments will be settled through the payment methods and schedules provided by Ethiopost.
- Failure to comply with fee structures may result in suspension of vendor privileges.
6. Suspension and Termination
Ethiopost reserves the right to suspend or terminate any vendor account found to be in violation of these terms, applicable laws, or platform integrity. Severe breaches may lead to legal action and permanent removal from the marketplace.
7. Intellectual Property
Vendors may only upload product images, logos, and materials they own or have the right to use. Infringement of third-party rights is grounds for account termination.
8. Data Usage and Privacy
Vendor data is handled in accordance with Ethiocommerce’s Privacy Policy. Vendors must also respect customer data privacy and refrain from unauthorized use.
9. Amendments
Ethiopost may revise these Terms at any time. Continued use of the vendor services implies acceptance of the updated terms.
